Job Title: Head Gardener in Ramatuelle
Live-in Permanent Position - Trial Period of a minimum 1 week is required.
The gross salary of up to EUR 6,500 per month is indicative. The Principal is offering a net salary of EUR 4,000 per month.
Duties:
- Prepare and cultivate garden beds through earthworks, weeding, soil conditioning, and fertilization.
- Plant, protect, and maintain a diverse range of flora, ensuring seasonal rotations and optimal plant health.
- Execute daily care routines including watering, planting, mulching, and general garden upkeep.
- Prune, trim, shape, or remove trees, hedges, and shrubs to maintain aesthetics and promote healthy growth.
- Maintain outdoor spaces including lawns, paths, terraces, and ornamental features such as ponds and water installations.
- Carry out minor hard landscaping tasks such as setting kerbs, laying slabs, and paving small areas.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery responsibly; ensure all equipment is safe and in good working condition.
- Apply safety protocols rigorously, especially when handling chemicals and mechanical tools.
- Monitor plants for signs of disease or pest infestation and liaise with specialists when intervention is required.
- Sort, manage, and recycle green waste in accordance with ecological standards.
Experience:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in professional gardening, landscaping, or horticulture.
- Prior work in private residences, luxury estates, or high-end hospitality environments strongly preferred.
- Skilled in the use and upkeep of garden machinery and tools.
- Confident in working independently with a proactive and self-sufficient approach.
- Proven ability to identify plant health issues and implement or coordinate appropriate treatment solutions.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Landscaping, Horticulture, Botany, or equivalent technical training strongly preferred.
- Valid Certificat individuel produits phytopharmaceutiques (Certiphyto) is required.
- Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil ecology, tree maintenance, and sustainable gardening techniques.
- Physically fit and able to perform outdoor manual tasks on a daily basis.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a strong sense of discretion, reliability, and respect for privacy.
- Familiarity with organic and environmentally responsible gardening methods is highly valued.
- Respectful and mindful of animals and natural ecosystems.
- English fluency required; French language skills are a significant asset.
- Eligible to work in EU.
